Need a Little Help from My Friends
No smart-ass posts today for White Trash Mom. I am very weary and thought I'd reach out a little to my peeps in Blogland. Dig if you will, some of the events of the past 7 days:
1. My husband's dear friend of over 34 years died last week of cancer. Doug was 45 years old and was diagnosed with terminal cancer in December...but we did not expect him to go so soon.
2. One of my best friends was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night. Her husband (also a dear friend) called me last night to tell me the news. I spoke to her Tuesday late afternoon and she was FINE. Naturally, the call was all about ME so I didn't really ask how she was. After I got off the phone last night I couldn't stop shaking. They are running tests to see what is wrong with her. Please remember my friend in your prayers and thoughts today. She is one of the dearest people in my life and gives so much to everyone else, there really aren't words for my feelings right now.
3.About two hours after I got the call about my friend, got another call. This call was about a woman in my extended family (also in her 40's) who had a stroke and was on life support. They are taking her off life support today which will probably result in her death. Please send some prayers, mediation or good mojo to my cousin and her family.
I am going to be doing a lot of extra praying today...I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for some extra help. Thank you so very much for your time and sorry to be a "downer" today but I'm sure you understand.
One more request, to wrap up this post, if you could send some good thoughts and prayers to my 14 year old daughter. Tests we got back THIS WEEK indicate she has some pretty severe food allergies we did not know about---she's allergic to gluten, rice, milk, BEEF, shrimp----for starters. I don't know where to begin to feed this child and this is another trial for a girl that has had her share of stuff laid on her.
Thank you so much for "listening". I mean it from the bottom of my little trashy heart.
Love,
White Trash Mom
Michelle

That's awful and overwhelming. I can realy relate to the food allergies- in December- told us that my two kids are allergic to dairy, wheat, peanut, citrus and soy. I comepletely understand the question, "what do you feed htis child?"

Sending all my vibes to you and your friends babe.
And Boo has an intolerance (not true allergy, but it sucks all the same) to dairy and gluten and other stuff too. You are in the most wonderful country in the world to access foods for these allergies. You can do it. It sucks bigtime for the first few weeks though.
Sending you huge smootches.

I saw the movie last weekend, "Meet The Browns", I highly recommend, but there was this older woman who made such a profound comment, she said something to a young single mom of three who had just lost her job, her electric was just shut off and they had nothing to eat; Don't give up, don't you know that things are always there worst right before a big breakthrough, right before something great is about to happen. My prayers are with you and your family!!

**sending all the good vibes your way**
Sorry to hear all of this - especially all at once - it can really take your breath away. Makes you stop as if you were slapped in the forehead and instantly be thankful for your own life, doesn't it?
As MammLoves said, we WT moms stick together - but, she can bring the Jello molds and casseroles, I'll bring the Cosmo-f'n-politans. Who's up for one?

Oh Michelle!!
I'm channeling every bit of positive energy your way right now. I'm so sorry for your husband's loss.
Us WTMs stick together. We're here for you if you need us--most likely with casseroles and jello molds.

As someone who is also allergic to wheat and gluten, never fear. There are lots of things out there that are halfway decent to eat (including cakes, brownies, etc)... it just takes some time to find them and try them. I was diagnosed several years ago when there was NOTHING... they've come along way!
PRaying!
